There was a special treat for those who attended Round 5 under cloudy skies in North Coogee. Stormin’ Norman Hound Dog Taylor brought delicious cannoli, which he said he had prepared himself, using Reg’s grandma’s secret recipe, However, Stormboy was keen to point out that he had lightly dusted them with dried mushroom powder, to lend them that special something.

As The Big LeBocce and Motherchucker had heard that Stormboy had been out foraging for mushrooms again, they decided to play it safe, and travelled as far away as possible (some say deepest darkest Peru, but that might be fake news). The price they paid was a forfeit each, so that result was a nil-all draw.

In the first game played by GFOOBO, Reg (in the absence of Buzz and Gonad) was whipped 7-3 by Barnballs.

Reg did a little better in his other game, but still came second to Big Wheelers, 7-5, with Banker surging back from 0-5 down to seize a memorable victory.

In Artificial Indifference’s first game, they whipped Banker 7-0, the season’s first nil result except for forfeits.

Although RE and Stormboy fought hard in their other match, The Brandy Bunch (Andy but no Brad) was too good, the latter prevailing 7-5.
