Nothing Greek in Shenton Park fixture

Despite 25 May being Greek Independence Day, nobody chose to play in a Tsolias costume. Perhaps even more strangely, 80% of the day’s games had a margin of three points or less.

The TV commentary team also observed that the league has not had a game with a nil result since Round 1, and that was a forfeit.

Go Flat Out – or Buzz Off (Gonad and Reg without Buzz) took the good with the bad, losing 6-8 to Mochu, but surviving their tussle with TBL (SuperMario on his Patma), 7-4.

The Big LeBocce also had a win and a loss, S&M beating Big Wheelers (Banker without Stella) in their other game, 7-2.

The Big Wheelers enjoyed their other game quite a bit more, with Banker taking home the points in a sometimes spiteful game with Brandy Bunch. Banker claimed that he always new he would win, because he was wearing his lucky underpants. “I always knew I would win, because I’m wearing my lucky underpants,” he said.

He was less clear about why he lost the game against The Big LeBocce. Perhaps the underpants are only lucky against some teams. Maybe he changed them between games.

Barnballs (Cannonball without Barney) and Artificial Indifference played the day’s closest contest, the latter coming from behind to prevail 7-6.
