Reg makes most of home-ground advantage

Reg on his way to two more wins at Smiths Lake Reserve, North Perth, in round 2

Round 2 of AATBL season 22 was played in the grounds of Reg’s sprawling North Perth estate. The reigning Grand BOCCE, president and fixture fixer put his knowledge of the local terrain to good use, coming back from a 3-0 deficit against ARSE (RE, sans Buzz and SNHDT) to win 9-3. He also won comfortably against Mochu, taking their game 7-4.

In his other game for Australian Research and Space Exploration, RE stole defeat from the jaws of victory, giving up a comfortable lead to be pipped 6-7 by Urbane Gorillas. With ARSE yet to open its 2022 account, some commentators have questioned the value of the team shirt.

The Urbane Gorillas were in fine form and even took turns doing King Kong impressions for the cameras.

.

In Urbane Gorillas’ other game, they had their way with a depleted Fuchu, defeating Stella (playing in the absence of Brad and Gonad) in Fuchu’s only game of the day, 7-3.

Motherchucker’s stocks took a dive on the day, as he also lost his other game, a 3-7 defeat to Cairo. As seems to be the new norm, Cairo sent only one player along, and apparently HRH Prince Andrew II drew the short straw. He explained that Digger and Cannonball were watching re-runs of Judge Judy and sent their apologies.

Cairo had less fun in its game against the in-form SuperMario, as S&M prevailed 7-5.

Speaking of fun, in a the day’s other battle of singletons, SuperMario used some very precise telekinesis to thump Barney 7-0.
