Who writes these weather forecasts anyway?

Why do dodgy sharknado forecasts seem to coincide with AATBL fixtures?

The May 2020 round was scheduled to be played at the DNA Tower in Kings Park. However, in the lead-up to the fixture, we received warnings of very nasty weather – specifically, a sharknado. Once again, the good people at the Bureau of Meteorology sold us the dummy.

Just like in July 2019, we scurried off to shelter, moving the locus bocci to the Vietnam Memorial Pavilion. Once again, although it was technically raining and the air was not completely still, the conditions were well short of cataclysmic. Worse still, there was not a single shark to be seen, though Brad did find a slug. “Look – it’s a slug,” he said.

The Grim Reapers (Digger sans Banker and SNHDT) continued their fine form, eclipsing Those Really Incredible Bocce Guys 7-2 and CWA 7-4.

TRIBG are languishing in last place, despite them (Brad in the absence of Barney) taking home the points for a 7-0 forfeit win over Shock and Awe and a big win, 8-2, over Sunshine.

The CWA was otherwise impressive, as BP, flying solo (Serge said he had accidentally locked himself in the toilet again and couldn’t make it), beat WTF 9-4. The CWA is only percentage points away from top spot.

Sunshine won one of its other two games, beating Bad News 7-5, but losing 4-7 to WTF (Stella without SuperMario). The good news for Bad News was that it “won” its other game with a 7-0 forfeit, thanks to Shock and Awe.
