The league’s 2025 annual general meeting was held on 7 December at Clancy’s in City Beach. President HRH Prince Andrew II delivered an insightful and passionate speech, while wearing a pith helmet complete with a solar-powered fan.
The announcement that Cannonball had been elected AATBL President for 2026 was met with tumultuous applause and cheering. President-elect Cannonball was clearly chuffed. “Look, I’m chuffed”, he said.
Given the recent directive made by HRH King Charles III, the “HRH Prince Andrew II” moniker has been retired.
Our Andy has therefore reverted to his “Big Pineapple” tag.
The blender for the coming season was aimed at there being seven playing entities, Motherchucker playing as a singleton, and six teams. Sadly, Stormin’ Norman Hound Dog Taylor will be in Thailand for most of 2026, promoting all-terrain bocce to the sports-mad Thais. Accordingly, as with Buzz J Lightbeer, Stormboy’s team will mostly see him appearing telepathically.
The six teams for 2026 will be:
- SuperMario, Big Pineapple and Buzz J Lightbeer
- BoB and Sir Justice Airwick COPD NFR
- Gonad and Barney
- Banker and Brad
- Stella and President Cannonball
- SNHDT and RE
Team names are yet to be announced.
In 2025, the Asti was “won” by The Brandy Bunch (Brad and Andy), and it was presented to them at the AGM.
As Brad was also on the Asti-receiving team in 2024 (Brad and Barney playing as “Killer B’s”), he’s potentially headed for an Asti three-peat in 2026. When this possibility was raised in an interview with Kane Cornes after the meeting, Brad’s curt response suggested that taking home the Asti is not on his 2026 to-do list. “Fuck off,” he said. “No, fuck right off”.
