Reg takes 2022 minor premiership by his fingernails

Digger shrugs off one of many sledges from Reg at Lake Monger in round 8

On the western shores of Lake Monger in round 8, a determined Barney decided that enough was enough. Having so decided, his Barniness despatched Fuchu (Brad Solo returns) 7-1 and SuperMario 7-0.

This took Barney from eighth to seventh on the ladder and helped to shove S&M from fourth down to sixth and thereby into contention for the Asti.

SuperMario’s other game was much closer, a 6-7 loss to a resurgent Motherchucker.

The resurgent Mochu was consistent, also prevailing 7-6 in his tussle with Urbane Gorillas (UG’s only game, played by Banker without Serge).

Although Mochu won both of his games by a bee’s dick, the victories were enough to take him from fifth place (and Asti contention) to third (separated from the top two only by percentage), and into the Asti immunity zone.

In Fuchu’s other game, Brad lost 4-7 to Reg.

That win, along with a 7-5 win over Cairo (Digger and HRH Prince Andrew II without Cannonball), saw Reg claw his way from second place to the minor premiership by percentage only.

Cairo’s other game was another 7-5 result, but this time it was a win, pushing ARSE (RE playing without Stormboy or Buzz) onto the lowest rung of the ladder.

The finals await us.
