UG on top with three home-and-away rounds to go

Round 5 saw the troops gather at Sir James Mitchell Park in South Perth. As seems traditional, although we have played there more than once before, Stella had difficulty firing up the kerosene-powered satnav and arrived at the locus bocci via Woodanilling, Embleton and Kensington.

Banker sings Ave Maria, on his way to defeating Cairo at Sir James Mitchell Park in round 5

Australian Research and Space Exploration (RE and Buzz without Stormboy) lost 5-8 to SuperMario and 6-7 to Barney. Neither was a very bad loss, but they were enough to relegate ARSE to the arse end of the ladder.

SuperMario came second in his other game of the day, with a scoreline that favoured Fuchu 8-4. As that was Fuchu’s only game of the day, they went home bragging about a 100% success rate.

Barney also won his other game, taking down the reigning premier, Reg, 7-5.

Taking into account Reg’s forfeit in round four, he racked up his third consecutive “loss”, going down 4-7 to Motherchucker.

Mochu had a good day, eclipsing Cairo (Digger playing solo) 7-4 in his other game.

Cairo had a less successful outing, as Urbane Gorillas (Banker sans Serge) took home the points with a 7-5 win.
