The second round of the 2017 season was noteworthy for two reasons:
- the 7:0 forfeit rule was applied for the first time; and
- the Nomads managed to lose two games after taking commanding leads in both.
Yes, the Nomads were 6:1 up against the Big Guns, but managed to lose 6:7. They were also in front against 6:0 against Shibumi (Banker, sans Reg), before Banker stormed home to take the game 6:7. Thanks to the new forfeit rule and the fact that the Drones didn’t turn up, the Nomads did manage to record one win for the day, 7:0, and retain second spot on the ladder.
The Big Guns also shared in some of the free points from the Drones having forfeited, thereby recording a 7:0 win.
Although Shibumi did take another game by actually playing it (defeating the Circus 7:2), it also recorded a 7:0 victory, thanks to the absence and forfeit of Heaven’s Door.
In the Circus’s other game, it did manage to beat the Pot Shots 7:5. The Pot Shots also shared in the forfeit love, taking a 7:0 win from Heaven’s Door.
