The fifth round of the 2016 home-and-away season comprised six action-packed games at Piney Lakes Reserve in Winthrop. At the end of the round, the Dirty Three were still camped at top spot on the ladder. They won one from two on the day, going down 1-7 to the Inscrotables (Gonad sans BP), but prevailing 7-2 over the lacklustre Ball Boys.
The Ball Boys, grand finalists last year, have struggled this year with Buzz Lightbeer being in Chicago, while he sets up the NATBL comp for the yanks. Buzz is less than impressed with his compadres’ performance and is said to have been giving them a hard time on social media.
In their other game, the Ball boys had a narrow loss, 6-7, to the Inscrotables, leaving the Ball Boys three percentage points away from last place on the ladder. The Jolly Rogers are hanging onto second place, having beaten the Flying Pigs, 7-5, and the cellar-dwelling Pigsburgh Squealers, 7-3.
It was not a great day for PS, as they also lost 7-3 to the Flying Pigs.
There has been no talk of the Pittsburgh Stealers stealing the Asti at this point, at least, not until now. It works well as a post-script. PS: Asti Spumante.
