Two rounds down

Lost and found: Serge plays a shot after making it to Bicton from Mosman Park via Perry Lakes.

As Easter this year falls on the last Sunday of the month, round two of the AATBL 2016 season was brought forward from its usual time-slot to accommodate those members who find it hard to move after eating several kilos of chocolate.

It could have been the change of timing that confused Sir Justice. Maybe he gets confused when the moon is waxing gibbous. Perhaps it was the possibility of getting a chocolate Bilby in a few days’ time that over-excited him. Whatever the cause, Serge telephoned RE during the first game to ask where everybody was. RE guessed that he was in the car park by the river and suggested that he would see us if he walked up the hill. When Serge pointed out that there is no river at Perry Lakes, the penny dropped and both realised that Serge had gone to April’s venue. Face-palm.

Results

The Flying Pigs’ season continued its underwhelming start, as they won one from two, going down 7-5 to GBU but beating the Ball Boys, 9-5. The Ball Boys similarly had mixed fortunes, winning their other game, against iBocce, 7-4.

Not having turned up last month, the iBocce lads had some catching up to do, so they played three games. They made short work of the newly-named Inscrotables, prevailing 9-6, and took out the Jolly Rogers by the narrowest of margins, but lost 7-4 to the Ball Boys. The Inscrotables also lost 2-7 to the Jolly Rogers, but cleaned up GBU, 7-1.
